Information You Send
Search entries such as a name, phone number, or address are sent to the third-party service that supplies the results. Yolo Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those search terms on its own servers. If you contact us, we receive the message and any details you choose to include, and use them to answer you.
Information Collected Automatically
Hosting systems may record standard logs such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time stamps. Those logs are reviewed in aggregate to maintain the pages and understand general traffic. Cookies or similar tools may also support basic analytics or, when used, advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to operate the reference, diagnose faults, measure broad traffic, and improve the pages. We do not sell a visitor list or construct an individual reader profile.
Outside Links
The pages point to California and Yolo County portals, libraries, archives, and other search providers. Once you follow one of those links, the destination’s privacy terms control what you submit there. Sponsored result tools are also supplied by a separate company.
Who May Receive It
Hosting and support vendors may process server logs for the limited purposes above. Analytics or advertising partners may receive automatic information when those tools are active. Disclosure occurs if valid legal process requires it; otherwise, the information is not shared outside those service functions.
Security and Retention
The reference uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the purposes described above. There are no user accounts, passwords, or reader profiles stored here.
Readers Under 18
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information, contact us so it can be removed.
Your California Privacy Choices
California’s Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, can provide rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of covered business data, subject to its exceptions. California’s Delete Act, Civil Code section 1798.99.80 and following, created a data-broker registry and the DROP deletion mechanism. Those rights address data held by covered businesses or brokers, not the public records maintained by Yolo County, California agencies, courts, or other custodians.
Because this reference keeps little information, a request normally involves checking the contact mailbox and available server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. For a government deed, voter file, vital record, or court file, contact the office that created or holds it. The California Privacy Protection Agency’s DROP information explains the separate broker process.
